About Us

crest_original.jpgDelta Kappa Epsilon was founded at UCLA in 1933 and distinguishes itself as small, tight-knit group of friends. We are involved in all aspects of campus life, and generate a bit of campus life on our own through social events organized throughout the year. Deke is a traditional brotherhood and each of us strives to live up to the standards set down by our forefathers.

Our chapter has a very close relationship with local alumni and we participate in alumni dinners as well as a yearly Gala that is attended by Dekes from all over the country. Our chapter alumni have come from three eras in which DKE thrived at UCLA, the latest of which began in 2004.

Nationally, our fraternity was founded at Yale in 1844 by fifteen men. They succeeded in building an organizaton "where the candidate most favored was he who combined in the most equal proportions the gentleman, the scholar, and the jolly good fellow."

Our membership well-known for leadership in all walks of life. This may be partially due to self-selection, and partially an outcome of the good influences that members have had on each other. Whatever the cause, it is no coincidence that so many prominent individuals in politics, business, sports, and science chose to rush DKE.
